I can best
describe a myopic glimpse as "a near-sighted view." It's how I
see things. When I photograph a person, place or object, I
like to capture that single moment in time. I don't bother
with how things looked in the past, or what they will be in the
future. Only one moment. The clock stops, and for a
brief second, everything is beautiful. That's all I see.
If you "just
want your picture taken" I am the wrong photographer for you.
I love unorthodox photography. I love concept photography.
You want me to photograph your family building sand castles in the
sunset? Awesome. You want to lay in a snow bank, wrapped
in Christmas lights? I'd love to take that picture! All
of my photographs are taken "on location." So, you pick the
spot, and I'll be there.
Often times,
when people think of a portrait, they think of being photographed in
a "nice" outfit, sitting in a chair, with a forced smile. I'd
like to change that outlook. I believe a photograph should
reflect who a person really is at the time of the portrait.
I always have ideas, and I would love to hear your ideas, as well.
My specialty
is nude photography - predominately females. I find that
my clients are comfortable with me, because I am frank and honest.
The human figure is a thing of beauty, no matter what. ( I am
also proficient in photo retouching for those who dislike their
little "beauty marks." ) I also pride myself on
confidentiality. No one will see your photos but you and I.
I also enjoy
child
photography. I like discovering the natural innocence in children. Sometimes posed pictures
just don't capture the essence of a child, so I try to catch them
having fun. Being themselves.
I prefer to
photograph in natural light, or by candlelight. I'm not a big
fan of flash photography. I do realize that sometimes flash is
a necessity, but I try to avoid it.
Photo editing
software is used to enhance my pictures. I can do everything
from fixing a blemish, to adding a sweet background. If you
can think it up, I can probably make it happen. I will
definitely try.
I live in
Traverse City, and I'm willing to travel up to an hour away to take
your photograph...Possibly more, depending on circumstances.
There are no
prices on my website, because my rates vary greatly depending on
where and what you would like me to photograph, and how you would
like me to edit the photos. Just contact me, and I'll give you
a quote for what you have in mind. I will work with your
ideas, and your budget, to come up with something spectacular.
